About Emily Henry

Emily Henry was born in 1991 and grew up near Cincinnati, Ohio. She studied creative writing at Hope College in Michigan and spent a semester at the New York Center for Art and Media Studies. After college she returned to Cincinnati and worked as a proofreader while she wrote.

She began with novels for young adults, starting with The Love That Split the World (2016). Beach Read (2020), her first romance for adults, became a bestseller, and each novel since has followed it onto the lists. Her books pair quick banter with grief, family trouble and doubts about work, and several have been sold for film.

Book Lovers (2022) is narrated by Nora Stephens, a sharp New York literary agent who spends a month in a small North Carolina town with her younger sister and keeps running into Charlie Lastra, a book editor she already dislikes. The novel plays with the familiar romance plot in which the city career woman loses the man to a small-town sweetheart. She lives in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
