Steve Erwin is a journalist and writer who has worked in print and broadcast media, including as a foreign correspondent for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
He co-wrote Left to Tell (2006) with Immaculée Ilibagiza. The memoir tells how she survived the 1994 genocide in Rwanda by hiding for 91 days with seven other women in a small bathroom in a pastor's house, while most of her family was killed. It argues that faith and forgiveness let her survive and live with what happened, and it became a New York Times bestseller. Erwin and Ilibagiza went on to write more books together, including Led by Faith (2008) and Our Lady of Kibeho (2008).
His publisher describes him as the co-author of seven books. He lives in New York City with his wife, the journalist and author Natasha Stoynoff.
